More… On Monday, May 13, 2019, Watauga City Council passed an Ordinance allowing Watauga residents to house between 1 and 6 Backyard Chickens on their property. City Code of Ordinance Chapter 6 Animals, Article VII - Livestock and Fowl, Division 3. Backyard Chickens went into effect on July 12, 2019. Per City Ordinance, it is required of residents to attend a Backyard Chickens 101 instructional class, before submitting a Backyard Chickens Permit Application to Animal Services. Currently, this class cannot be taught due to COVID-19 restrictions. Animal Services has created this online instructional training in place of the in-person class allowing residents the ability to comply with City Ordinance and obtain their Backyard Chickens Permit without further delay.Less…
