North Texas Libraries On the Go provides access to downloadable eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, and eComics/eGraphic Novels from OverDrive and the Libby app.  

RBdigital products are now available via OverDrive/Libby app.  

Free and Low Cost E-books

  • Amazon Free Books - A trial program that works only with Amazon's Kindle and the mobi format.
  • FB Reader - Includes books in different languages.
  • FeedBooks.com - Thousands of public domain and original books from new authors accessible from any mobile device.
  • ForgottenBooks.org - Read thousands of books on-line or download free eBooks in PDF format.
  • Kobo - Some free books from a general reader application.
  • Planet eBook - Classic literature for download as free eBooks.
  • Project Gutenberg - 33,000 public domain books that can be downloaded in multiple formats.
  • Try Harlequin - 16 try-for-free romance titles.


E-Book Apps

Specific devices usually have specific e-book applications to download books. You have to download the application before you can retrieve books from the virtual stores. Some of these are:
