Council Member Mark Taylor was elected to Council on May 5, 2018.

Council Member Mark Taylor retired in May, 2015, after 21 years with Fidelity Investments. The last 11 years was spent working as a managing director of retirement plan operations for small to mid-sized businesses. He obtained a BBA in Management Science from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and an MBA in Financial Services from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.

Born in Cambridge, England, Mark spent his formative years in Wichita Falls, Texas, having moved there as a child when his father, serving with the US Air Force, was stationed to Sheppard Air Force Base in 1959. Mark graduated high school and college in Wichita Falls before moving to Tarrant County in 1985. He purchased a home in Watauga in 2014 where he currently lives with his spouse, Carol.

After moving to Watauga, he became active in the Volunteers in Police Service with the Watauga Police Department. Mark has enjoyed working with the citizens of Watauga through his association with the VIPS organization. He also had a tenure serving on the City’s Library Board.
