Library Board
Overview
The Library Board acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to the library. The Board assists in interpreting the policies and functions of the library department to the public and encourage in every possible manner the development and advancement of the city public library.
The Board is composed of 7 members with 2 City Council Liaisons. Each member serves a 2 year term. The officers of the Board consist of a chairperson, a vice chairperson, and a secretary.
The Library Board meets the second Tuesday every other month.
Residency Requirement to serve on the board is as follows:
Sec. 20-22.
Each member of the board shall be a resident of the city and shall be a qualified registered voter for the city on the date of appointment to the board and shall remain a resident and a qualified voter so long as they continue to serve on the board.

Meetings
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Agendas are posted at least 72 hours prior to the meeting, as required by state law. Minutes are posted after they have been formally approved by the committee. Meetings are live streamed at the time the meeting is held. On-demand streaming of meetings is generally made available within one day following the meeting.
